Kropotkinsky Brewery presents a new variety of great beer for every day: the original Viennese lager brewed according to the formulation of 1841.
This formulation was created by Anton Dreher in Vienna in 1841, in the second half of the 19th century. The Viennese lager quickly became popular throughout Europe; however, with the beginning of the 20th century, the situation changed drastically. The Austro-Hungarian Empire ceased to exist; the Vienna influence decreased; competitors such as Pilsner and Dortmund beer were gaining strength. Viennese lagers quickly disappeared. The appearance of a new style was preceded by years of hard work on creation of a special light malt which was later called “Viennese”.
Noble, mostly Zatetsky hops. “Wiener” Australian malt.
A brewer’s legend: lager of moderate strength with moderate bitterness. Clear, rich bread taste and slightly toasted flavor of malt giving you an elegant impression; this taste was created due to quality base malts and the brewing process rather than special malts and plain raw materials.
